In line with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s (CBSL) initiative to encourage inward remittances to the country, Bank of Ceylon has joined the initiative to promote the “Lanka Remit” mobile app developed by Lanka Clear Ltd.
In appreciation of its prompt response, the Bank of Ceylon was presented with a special plaque by the Chief Guest, Minister of Youth and Sports, Minister of Development Co-ordination and Monitoring and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development Namal Rajapaksa, and CBSL Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal at the inaugurating ceremony held at the Central Bank. The bank’s General Manager KED Sumanasiri accepted the token of appreciation on behalf of the Bank of Ceylon.
As the country’s premier bank and the market leader in remittances, BOC believes it can add value to this initiative through its operational capabilities and ability to reach a larger number of customers from all walks of life who would benefit from this timely initiative.
