Bandhan Bank will open 21 branches in West Bengal on 26 February. Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee will be inaugurating these branches. Chandrasekhar Ghosh, MD and CEO of the bank, said the bank has given the biggest fillip to the state’s drive to expand banking facilities in rural areas. Of the 21 new branches, two will be in Kolkata and the rest in remaining districts. Many more new branches in the adjoining areas of the city are in the pipeline, Ghosh said. Out of the bank’s total 612 branches in 27 states, 240 are located in West Bengal.
