Bandhan Bank has been able to collect as much as Rs 3000 crore in deposits in about three months of its operations. The bank, one of the two entities to get a license a year ago, has been able to enrol 5 lakh new customers. With the opening of a new branch in Bhubaneswar, its total number of branches stands at 566. It had started operations on 23 August with 501 branches across 24 states. Now, it operates across 27 states. MD and CEO of the bank Chandra Sekhar Ghosh said the bank had started operations with a customer base of 74 lakh, and it has increased to 79 lakh in less than three months. The total number of accounts has increased to 1.60 crore. And during the period, the bank has collected deposits of over Rs 3,000 crore.
