Axis Bank sets up learning academies for staff

Axis Bank launched a series of academies to build proficiency among its 56,000 employees. The bank is partnering with the best in class institutes in the effort. The bank said it wants to nurture the traditional banking skills with a new age lens – better described as ‘Twin Tracking’. This initiative aims at nurturing the skillsets and encouraging its employees to self-identify and select areas of specialization that will enable them to become future-ready digital bankers. Among the institutes that are partnering with the bank are INSEAD, Crisil, and INSOFE. The bank employees will be trained to make better use of their existing skills in areas such as credit and risk with the new age lens of digitization powered by data driven analytics. Rajesh Dahiya, ED of the bank, said the bank believes that continuous learning is critical for the bank to be taken to the next level. With rapid adoption of digitization across the ecosystem, it is becoming imperative to review and redesign our decision-making frameworks. Building strong digital capabilities through consistent learning process will act as a critical element in driving this reengineering and to stay relevant and agile. To fulfill the goal of digital India, our Academies will ensure that we nurture and create more digital bankers in the country, he added.
