Bhagini Nivedita Sahakari Bank was established in 1974 in Pune with the primary objective of providing banking services to help uplift the standard of living of poor women. The bank has made continuous and substantial progress for the last 42 years. It has been profitable since inception and has shown profits above Rs 10 crore for the last 3 years. The bank has grown continuously at over 10% for the last 3 years.Its gross NPA has been below 1% for the last 3 years and net NPA has been below 1% for the last 12 years. It has opened new branches every year since 2010. Starting with 9 branches in 2010, it has grown to 17 branches now.
Bhagini Nivedita Sahakari Bank has also set up 7 ATMs so far and distributed 4000 cards to its customers. It does an average of 1200 transactions on its ATMs per day, rising to a peak of 1850 transactions per day. It implemented CBS in 2009 and since then has also implemented AML, eKYC and document scanning. The network has also been upgraded from 128 kbps leased lines to 2 mbps lines with MPLS technology.
The bank won 3 awards at FCBA 2015 – Best CEO, Best CBS Change Initiative and Best Security Initiative. At FCBA 2016, the bank won awards for Best Card Initiative, Best Cash Automation and Best ePayments.
