Former RBI deputy governor Anand Sinha has joined corporate law firm Amarchand & Mangaldas as senior advisor, financial services. It will be a part-time role, advising clients on policy and regulatory matters and training its staff. Sinha retired earlier this year after 37 years of service at the regulator. Sinha had been among the brains behind the central bank’s new bank licensing initiative that ended this year with two firms, IDFC and Bandhan Financial, bagging the ticket. Amarchand Mangaldas is India’s largest corporate law firm with 700 lawyers spread across seven locations. Sinha’s role will be that of a client facing one, Shroff said, adding that the firm will use his expertise in navigating policy and regulatory framework of the RBI.
