Anand Krishnamurthy has been appointed MD and CEO of Catholic Syrian Bank. He has about 22 years of experience in banking having previously worked with HSBC. He joined Catholic Syrian Bank in April 2014 and had been responsible for corporate banking, SME business and the integrated treasury operations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in technology (mechanical engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and a post graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. S. Santhanakrishnan, part-time chairman of the Bank, said Anand will continue to focus on initiatives to transform the bank into a full service contemporary bank. The bank had recently filed application for an IPO.
