Karur Vysya Bank has introduced a facility of Aadhaar enrolment center in Chennai. The UIDAI has been advising commercial banks to provide Aadhaar enrolment and updation facilities at various branches and the bank’s initiative is in response to this suggestion. The bank is the first private sector bank to provide this service in the country. D.M. Gajare, assistant director general of UIDAI, inaugurated the center. The bank said the process of enrolment or updating the details in Aadhaar can be completed in about 15 minutes, if the customers bring in all the necessary documents. The bank intends to have 75 more such centers across the country.
