Karnataka Bank intends to focus on digital banking and move ahead with digital initiatives that are on hand. The bank’s MD and CEO P. Jayarama Bhat said digital banking is the key to successful banking in the years to come and mentioned Unified Payment Interface (UPI), which the bank is in the process of launching, as an instance, which he felt will support customer acquisition and customer retention activities. He listed quality credit, top-class customer service, proactive digital banking initiatives, best employee practices and highest standard of corporate governance as the factors that decide to make the bank stronger. Bhat was addressing senior staff members of the bank at a conclave recently.
