Andhra Bank is setting up a museum at its headquarters in Hyderabad, preserving memories of its illustrious journey in the Indian banking system since its inception in November 1923. The museum will have the memorabilia of its founder and freedom fighter Pattabhi Sitaramayya and other documents and artefacts that are linked to its foundation and growth. A senior manager of the bank B. Gopala Krishna will be incharge of the museum. He said the memorabilia currently available in the Machilipatnam-based museum would not be shifted to Hyderabad. Machilipatnam museum has a rare collection, including the locker and other infrastructure used in the first branch and photographs.
