ABN Amro Bank is testing wearable devices, including rings, watches and bracelets, for making contactless payments and has invited 500 of its customers for the trial. The bank has set up a registration page for customers interested in trying out the technology following a number of successful internal tests with staffers last year. It will be a 4-month trial during which the selected customers will put the products to the test on the high street and provide feedback through a mobile app created specifically for the purpose. In the Netherlands as much as 50% of all payments are contactless.
