V Srinivasan has been appointed as deputy managing director of Axis Bank. Srinivasan, who was already a whole time director on the bank’s board has been re-designated as DMD, the bank said in a press release. He has been instrumental in building the corporate banking, investment banking, transaction and treasury businesses of the bank, it said. He joined Axis Bank from JP Morgan Chase as executive director, corporate bank in 2009 and was taken to the bank’s board in October 2012. The bank also had appointed SKF India chairman Rakesh Makhija as an independent director of the bank.
