The Reserve Bank has appointed S. Ganesh Kumar as an executive director. He comes in place of Chandan Sinha, who has sought voluntary retirement. Ganesh Kumar will be in charge of the departments of IT, Payment and Settlement Systems and External Investments and Operations. A career central banker, who joined RBI in 1984, he was CGM in charge of the department if IT. He had earlier handled payment systems, supervision, foreign exchange, IT and government and bank accounts in RBI.
