Leadership overhaul in HDFC Bank

There have been changes in leadership roles in the HDFC Bank with effect from  October 1. Arvind Kapil, group head, retail assets, will now spearhead the mortgage business, while Arvind Vohra, group head, retail branch banking, has moved on as the group head, retail assets. Kaizad Bharucha, who had been appointed as Deputy Managing Director of the bank recently, will now also oversee inclusive banking, CSR & ESG, over and above wholesale banking capital, commodities markets and construction finance.

Sashidhar Jagdishan, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, HDFC Bank, undertook the massive leadership overhaul exercise.

Parag Rao, group head, payments, consumer finance, and digital banking, will be additionally responsible for marketing, liability products, third party and non-resident products. Smita Bhagat and Sampath Kumar will be the two new retail branch banking heads.

Ramesh Lakshminarayanan, currently the CIO, will lead the IT and digital function, while Rakesh Singh, the group head, investment banking, private banking, marketing and products, will spearhead the creation of banking as a service (BaaS).
