ICICI Bank launches ‘SmartLock’ for enhanced account security

ICICI Bank has introduced ‘SmartLock,’ a new safety feature on its iMobile Pay app, allowing customers to instantly lock or unlock various banking services without needing assistance from customer care. This first-of-its-kind feature in the Indian banking sector enables users to secure internet banking, UPI payments, and credit and debit cards with just a click.
The ‘SmartLock’ feature also permits locking or unlocking the entire iMobile Pay app. Customers can deactivate specific banking services temporarily or in response to potential fraudulent activity. Scheduled standing instructions and E-mandates remain unaffected even when services are locked.
Customers can easily access ‘SmartLock’ by logging into iMobile Pay, selecting the feature, choosing the services to lock or unlock, and swiping to confirm.
iMobile Pay is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and it allows users from any bank to link their accounts, generate a UPI ID, and start transacting.
