HDFC Bank said it is deploying mobile ATMs to help customers during the lockdown. These ATMs are expected to eliminate the need for customers to move out of their locality to withdraw cash. The mobile vans carrying ATMs were introduced initially in Mumbai & Noida. The bank said there are plans to extend the service to the rest of the country shortly. The locations for deployment of these vans are being identified in consultation with local municipal authorities in respective cities. The mobile ATMs will be open in each location for a specific period of time during which it will cover 3-5 stops. The timings will be 10 am to 5 pm. The bank said all necessary precautions in terms of maintaining social distancing while queueing for withdrawals and sanitization are being taken to ensure safety of staff and customers.
