
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated 70 new branches of the State Bank of India (SBI) as part of the bank’s platinum jubilee celebrations. She also launched 501 Women Customer Service Points (CSPs), further strengthening SBI’s efforts to enhance banking accessibility and expand financial services to unbanked communities across the country.
During the event, the Finance Minister lauded SBI’s long-standing leadership in the banking sector, highlighting its role in financial inclusion, rural outreach, and digital banking innovation.
She urged banks and other financial institutions to embrace technological advancements and digital transformation to better serve customers and meet evolving financial needs.
