Barclays Bank has halted work on a cryptocurrency trading project, according to news reports. Th bank had set up a senior team earlier this year to look at how it could incorporate the trading of digital assets into its markets business. Called Digital Assets Project, it was headed by Chris Tyrer, the bank’s former head of energy trading. He, however, let the bank in September reportedly after the bank decided to shelve the project. The project intended to evolve a methodology to use cryptocurrencies as a viable long term asset class.
