DFCC Bank of Sri Lanka will be merged with its subsidiary DFCC Vardhana Bank effective 1 October. The latter is the commercial banking unit of the former. The merged entity will be named DFCC Bank. An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders will be held on 28 August to obtain their approval. The boards of the two entities had approved the proposal earlier.
