MobiKwik, a bus booking service provider, has announced a new system whereby partial payment for ticket reservation can be made at the time of booking the final payment can be made at the time of journey. MobiKwik has some 32 million registered users and it said the new system of ticket booking would simplify the user’s journey. MobiKwik targets doing 25000 daily bus bookings by December 2016. Upasana Taku, co-founder, MobiKwik said the company is currently doing 4000 daily bus bookings and it has already seen the service grow 100% in the past one month. It is now launching partial payment booking and cash pick up for bus tickets in order to encourage travelers, she added. The overall bus booking segment is valued at Rs 20,000 crore in India and online transactions contribute nearly 15% to this segment. MobiKwik’s bus booking service is available pan-India and is available on MobiKwik app and website.
