Yes Bank to introduce social media banking

Yes Bank is all set to launch a new service named Yes Tag that would allow customers to do banking transactions on Twitter, Facebook Messenger, WeChat, Telegram and Skype.  According to the bank’s CIO Anup Purohit, with Yes Tag, customers can check their account balance, last 5 transactions, mini statement, fixed deposit details, cheque status, stop cheque, request chequebook and much more. They can also send money to registered beneficiaries from any of these messaging apps. It will facilitate instant funds transfer to registered beneficiaries anywhere, anytime at no cost. These fund transfer transactions will be secured with a 6 digit pass code. The bank has plans to add more services to the app in subsequent releases which include enabling the services on 4 additional platforms Viber, Line, Hike and JioChat. The new features and services that are in pipeline include mobile pre-paid recharge, DTH recharge, bill payments, sending money to friends/contacts basis social contact or mobile number, changing PIN and hotlisting debit card, requesting TDS certificate, e-statement and bank alerts registration, locating ATM/branch etc, Purohit said in a media interaction. Yes Tag is currently going to be launched on Andriod and iOS and would be subsequently made available on Windows.
