Nandkumar Saravade has been appointed CEO of Data Security Council of India. He will be a full-time CEO and will be based in New Delhi. He takes over from Rama Vedashree. Until recently, Saravade has been working as an independent advisor on fraud and security to Ernst & Young and ICICI Bank. He was earlier the South Asia head of Security, Investigation and Vigilance function for Citibank.GM, Financial Crime Prevention Group, ICICI Bank. Saravade has also been in the Indian Police Service and has seved the CBI. He has been director, Cyber Security and Compliance, NASSCOM, which involved policy formulation on cyber security and privacy, capacity building for law enforcement, advising NASSCOM members on incident response management and organizing mass awareness campaigns on cyber security. He has also served as a member of the high level group on Electronic Banking Controls Governance and Technology Risk Management Standards set up by RBI, and chairman, India Payment Risk Council, a body of fraud risk professionals in Indian banks, during 2008-2011.
