The RBI has approved the appointment of Rakesh Makhija as chairman of Axis Bank. He has been appointed as the non-executive (part-time) chairman of the bank for a period of 3 years. He will assume charge on 18 July. Makhija has been a member of the top management in SKF Group. He has also been MD and CEO of Tata Honeywell. With a career spanning over 40 years, he is known for his contributions to the industrial and technology sectors in India and internationally.
