Ravi Menon gets another term at MAS

The Monetary Authority of Singapore has reappointed Ravi Menon as its MD and member of the board for a period of two years starting 1 June. The appointment was made by the president of Singapore. Menon had assumed the position in 2011. He was previously permanent secretary at the ministry of trade and industry and deputy secretary at the Ministry of Finance. MAS is chaired by deputy prime minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam while minister of trade and industry Lim Hng Kiang is its deputy chairman. At MAS Menon ensured that the regulator has been a keen and consistent supporter and early adopter of financial technology and supported the growth of fintech in Singapore which is now recognized as one of the leading global fintech hubs.
