IDFC Bank has appointed Rajan Anandan, vice president and MD, South East Asia and India, Google, as an independent director on its board. The appointment is, however, subject to shareholders’ and RBI’s approval. He will the 9th director on the bank’s board. Rajiv Lall, MD and CEO of the bank, said Rajan Anandan brings a valuable perspective on the virtual world and energizes IDFC Bank’s ability to innovate. Anandan who holds a BSc degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an MSc from Stanford University, has been with Google since 2011 when he joined from Microsoft. He was also executive assistant to Dell chairman Michael Dell. The bank in a statement said Rajan Anandan’s guidance will be useful as the bank is set to offer a service proposition that is anchored in technology.
