The Punjab National Bank has proactively settled the insurance claims of the families of the defence personnel who died in the unfortunate Coonoor helicopter crash.
PNB has settled claims of Rs 10 million each for the families of Para Commando Lance Naik Vivek Kumar and Para Commando Lance Naik B Sai Teja.
Sunil Soni, CGM at PNB, Pramod Kumar Dubey, Zonal Manager at PNB Shimla, and ADC Kangra Rahul Kumar, IAS, visited Vivek Kumar’s bereaved family in Upper Theru, Himachal Pradesh. The claim settlement cheque was handed to Priyanka Rani, wife of martyr Vivek Kumar, by the management.
Sanjeevan Nikhar, Zonal Manager at PNB, Hyderabad, AUB Reddy, Circle Head at PNB, Vijaywada, and Vijay Shankar Reddy, District Sainik Welfare officer at Chittoor, handed the claim settlement cheque to the family of B Sai Teja at Eguvaregadapalli. The bank stated that both the claims were settled in the shortest possible time to assist the bereaved families.
Two of the 11 martyrs were covered under the PNB Rakshak Salary Scheme, whose claims were promptly settled without delay by handing over cheques to the nominees, personally by the PNB officials. The PNB Rakshak salary account covers all defence, police, and paramilitary personnel with a personal accident cover up to Rs 6 million, an air accident cover of Rs 10 million, and other benefits.
