Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the iconic week celebrations of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Corporate Affairs from June 6-11, 2022, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM). As the chief guest, he inaugurated Jan Samarth Portal for credit-linked government schemes. Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman was the guest of honour.
The Prime minister also released a special series of ₹1, ₹2, ₹5, ₹10 and ₹20 coins. These special coins will have the theme of the logo of AKAM and will also be easily identifiable to visually impaired persons.
PM Modi emphasised that now is the time to infuse the dreams of our freedom fighters with renewed vigour and to make new pledges. The emphasis now is on bringing governance to the people and freeing them from the rigmarole of visiting various ministries and websites. The launch of the Jan Samarth Portal is a significant step in this direction. This portal will improve the lives of students, farmers, businessmen, MSME entrepreneurs and will help them in realizing their dreams. The Jan Samarth Portal will benefit the nation’s youth and startup ecosystem.
