Neeraj Swaroop to head StanChart Singapore

seffStandard Chartered Bank has formally named Neeraj Swaroop as chief executive officer for its operations in Singapore, replacing Ray Ferguson, who left the British bank to join Arab Banking Corporation in Bahrain. His appointment as Singapore CEO is effective 31 March. Swaroop has spent 23 years in the financial services industry. His last position at Standard Chartered was CEO for ASEAN excluding Singapore, and he was previously the bank’s regional head for India and South Asia. The bank has over 7,400 employees in Singapore, making it one of the largest employers in the financial sector. The Singapore operation was the second biggest contributor to Standard Chartered’s profits last year, coming in after Hong Kong.
