In the January 2024 issue of Banking Frontiers, Gyanendra Singh, CTO of Aviva India, had shared about how the company excels at RPA through governance-based implementation and pragmatic vendor selection. He shares more initiatives since then:
The year 2024 has been a game-changer for Aviva India, as it introduced several groundbreaking innovations that revolutionize both the insurance and wellness landscape in India. It recently launched a savings life insurance plan, Aviva Bharat Parivar Vikas Yojana, aimed specifically at enhancing insurance penetration among semi-urban, rural, and low-income populations. This innovative, byte-sized product can be issued in just 2 minutes without any documentation, making it extremely accessible. The product leverages the company’s newly developed onboarding platform, which is among the most advanced in India. It utilizes the country’s digital infrastructure for eKYC, PAN, and account verification, along with computer vision technology for instant medical underwriting.
The 2-minute hassle-free issuance journey, powered by cutting-edge technology, has enabled Aviva to partner with government agencies like the Uttarakhand State Rural Livelihood Mission (USRLM). This collaboration leverages their extensive reach to increase insurance penetration in rural and underserved segments of Uttarakhand. By doing so, Aviva not only help augment the income of USRLM cadres but also contribute to the mission of achieving ‘Insurance For All by 2047’.
HEALTH KIOSK
Aviva also launched Digital Bharat Swasthya Kendra, a digital health kiosk, to create awareness about health & wellness. It’s a self-service kiosk that uses computer vision-based AI and bioelectrical impedance analysis to provide a report of multiple health parameters to a user. The report is then sent to them via WhatsApp and email. Plus, the user is rewarded with a complimentary subscription to an AI-powered diet planner that provides personalized nutrition guidance.
MORE RPA
Aviva have integrated Auto Pay via UPI for seamless recurring payments. The rapid policy issuance is facilitated by Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which connects the digital front end with the core policy administration and servicing systems, facilitating near-instant communication with the core systems, while requiring significantly less development effort compared to traditional integration methods. Through these pioneering advancements, Aviva India is redefining the insurance experience and also creating a healthier, more secure future for India.
