The government has appointed M.R. Kumar as the chairman of Life Insurance Corporation of India. He was zonal manager (in-charge) of North Zone of LIC. He will hold the post of the LIC chairman for 5 years. He had joined LIC as a direct recruit officer in 1983. He took over from Hemant Bhargava who had been the acting chairman since January 2019. The government also appointed T.C. Suseel Kumar and Vipin Anand as managing directors of LIC for 5 years.
