Kuwait’s Boubyan Bank has engaged Oberthur Technologies, a leading global provider of embedded security software products, services and solutions, to offer the first contactless payment cards in the country. The bank has decided to market new contactless payment cards, which are expected to enhance the shopping experience as customers just need to wave their contactless payment card in front of a contactless terminal. The first contactless terminals are expected in 2016. Abdullah Al Najran Al Tuwaijri, deputy CEO of the bank, said the contactless technology will help deliver innovative and customer centric solutions for the bank.
