Karnataka Bank is planning to open more than five lakh current and savings accounts in the next three-and-half months. Under a special program, the bank wants to open current and savings accounts by undertaking door-to-door canvassing and covering maximum number of households under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. The bank has more than 625 branches across India and 61 lakh accounts under the current and savings bank category. The bank aims to cross a customer base of 68 lakh in the current and savings accounts by March 2015.
