JPMorgan goes casual

jp morganJPMorgan Chase has relaxed it dress code for employees. It told its 237,000 employees that they can opt for casual dress every day. This makes JPMorgan the latest company to allow employees to wear casual dress at work. Earlier, large corporates like GE and IBM, have got rid of uniforms of for its workers. According to a memo to the employees, JPMorgan’s operating committee said more clients are dressing informally and many parts of the business are already business casual and while it may not be possible to dress business casual at all times or in all areas, having a firmwide guideline is the right thing to do. The memo, however, specifies that employees ‘should dress for that client’. Employees at branches still need to wear specific Chase apparel, unless the managers have specifically allowed otherwise.
