Karnataka Bank’s managing director P. Jayarama Bhat has completed five years in his position, the bank said in a press statement. Bhat assumed office on 14 July 2009. The press statement said during the five years of his stewardshio, the bank has shown an all round growth with business turnover increasing to Rs 70,300 crore from Rs 32,000 crore as on July 2009. The networth of the bank increased to Rs 3,052 crore from Rs 1,567 crore. The bank added 746 outlets – that includes161 branches, 544 ATMs, 41 ultra-small branches – during the period. It now plans to achieve business turnover of Rs 83,000 crore and to expand total outlets to 1,741 by the end of March 2015.
