Dattatray Matiara Kalambe Jaoli Sahakari Bank of Mumbai, better known as DMK Jaoli Bank, has implemented several technology initiatives, including ATMs in all its branches, internet banking, centralised cheque book issuance, call center and customer relationship management. The bank has also set up a state of the art training center at Dadar.
“We have always given priority to technology implementation,” says Datta Kalambe, head of the IT department of the bank. “What is unique about our technology set-up is that we have a an efficient backup and alternate facility to face any disaster. At present, the bank has outsourced the data center facility but has implemented the network operation centre (NOC) in our own premises, where a parallel setup like DR is maintained and last day end’s backup of whole bank gets restored on daily basis. As a part of business continuity planning, DR site has been set up at Chennaai and near site is maintained at our head office. ”
Among the other IT initiatives of the cooperative bank are: CBS covering all the 17 branches and the head office way back in 2007 SMS alerts, RTGS, centralized cheque clearance using CTS system. The IT department has also documented and put in place policies and procedures.
Kalambe has been instrumental in developing a Vision Plan 2015 for the bank.
