Indian Bank to open 100 branches

Indian Bank will open 100 new branches in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the next two years, T.M. Bhasin, CMD of the bank said. Inaugurating the bank’s new premises at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad, he said the two new states would offer scope for business development. Currently, Indian Bank operates 300 branches with a business of Rs 25,000 crore in both states apart from Sapthagiri Grameena Bank, which operates 165 branches with business of Rs 6,135 crore. With increased network of branches, the bank expects to double its business in the next two years in both the states.
