HDFC Bank will open 20 new branches in Chhattisgarh to take its total network to 70 in the state. The new branches will be opened in the first quarter of 2014-15, said Navin Puri, country head, Branch Banking of the bank. Earlier, the bank launched the 12 rural branches in Chhattisgarh, taking its total network to 50 branches in the state. He added that the bank had been expanding its branch network and would open 250 to 400 branches across the country in the financial year 2014-15. With the opening of new branches, the bank now had 70% of its network dedicated to semi-urban and rural areas of Chhattisgarh. At a National level, the bank has 53% of its branches in the semi-urban and rural areas. The branches will funciton 6 days week branches, which will enable customers to undertake day-to-day transactions as also experience the full breadth and depth of the bank’s offering.
