Former deputy governor of the RBI Harun Rashid Khan is a new director on the board of Bandhan Bank. Khan had been heading the department handling payments systems at the RBI for a long period of time. In his career at the RBI, he had had handled a diverse portfolio including financial market, foreign exchange and financial inclusion. He was deputy governor between 2011 and 2016. Meanwhile, the part-time chairman of the bank Ashoke Kumar Lahiri has resigned from the position. He has been finding it difficult to hold the position as he has also to function as a member of the 15th Finance Commission. The bank has meanwhile re-appointed Chandra Shekhar Ghosh as its MD and CEO for a period of 3 years. The reappointment is subject to regulatory clearances.
