Google Pay said its users in India and Singapore can now receive money from users in the USA. This is a major expansion of the features of the payments service to add remittance services – an industry which sees $700 billion worth payments annually. Google has partnered with Western Union and Wise so that Google Pay users in the US will be able to send money directly to Google Pay users in India and Singapore. At the time of sending, they can choose either of the 2 options available – Western Union or Wise. A user can see the exchange rate and transfer fee while sending money. The charges will be levied to the sender and not the receiver. Google said it plans to expand this service to 200 countries by the end of the year.
