Payment system technology provider FINO PayTech plans to expand its footprint by increasing presence across 21 districts in Rajasthan. The company has been working on government of Rajasthan’s e-governance project, eMitra, since September 2014. Through this association it provides a host of government related services to local people. Electricity bill payment tops the list of services used by customers followed by university admission application and fee payment, DTH/mobile recharge, domicile and caste certificate, ration card and water bill. At these points customers can also do instant money transfer and get access to other value added services such train and bus ticket booking and online shopping through Snapdeal. These services form part of FINO PayTech’s retail offerings to its direct customers, who are largely migrants and low income households. Ashish Ahuja, vice president – Retail, of the company, said the company’s understanding of the requirements allowed it to introduce right products and services at the right price to them through 1500 eMitra points and other retail outlets spread across 21 districts. e-Mitras clocked around 3.5 lakh transactions last year valued at Rs 25 crore. Additionally, at the retail outlets (merchant points), over a lakh of domestic remittance transactions with a throughput of Rs 47 crore have taken place. The company would be adding 1500 eMitra kiosks and will have 250 retail points in the state by the end of this year, he added.
