Federal Bank is setting up a skill center academy in Ernakulam to help underprivileged youths acquire skillsets and thereby earn a living. The academy will offer courses in plumbing system design and technology, which is said to be in high demand in the state. Admission to the academy will be based on merit and financial capability of the candidates and the bank will bear the cost of the training offered to the candidates. The academy is part of the bank’s CSR activities. Candidates successfully completing the course will get international certification, which will enable them to get jobs in India as well as abroad. The bank has tied up with SB Global Education Resources, which will be the implementing partner for the project.
