Dr R. Seetharaman, group CEO, Doha Bank, has been awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the Banker Middle East Industry Awards 2015 Ceremony recently in Dubai. The award is in recognition for his personal contribution to the ‘greater understanding of the economic development of the region’ and his support for the environment and business. He received the award from Qatar Stock Exchange CEO Rashid al-Mansoori, who was the guest of honour, and CPI Financial chairman Saleh al-Akrabi. Thanking for bestowing the award on him, Dr Seetharaman outlined several of his key initiatives in the banking industry, including the expanded presence of Doha Bank across the Gulf Co-operation Council. He also spoke on Doha Bank’s role in promoting sustainable development, which, he said, contributed towards economic growth, social development, and the environment.
