Deutsche Bank has nominated Werner Steinmüller, head of its global transaction-banking business, as CEO of Asia-Pacific and to join the bank’s management board. Steinmüller will move to Hong Kong later this year. He has been with Deutsche Bank since 1991 and head of transaction banking since 2004. This will be the first time that the bank would have an Asia-based executive on its management board. Steinmüller joining the management board would make the total number of members on the board to 9. The bank has also hired John Gibbons from J.P. Morgan Chase to take over Steinmüller’s role as transaction-banking chief.
