Banks had secured top rankings in the BrandZ list of India’s 50 most valuable brands. For the second time in a row, HDFC bank had retained the top position in the list. It has a brand value of $12.6 billion. When Airtel listed as the second top brand, out of the first four ranks, three are secured by banks with SBI and ICICI respectively securing third and fourth. Also, out of the top ten in the list, five are secured by banks with Kotak securing eighth position and Axis Bank ninth position. The study is compiled by research agency Millward Brown and commissioned by WPP, the world’s largest communications services group.
