Bank of Taiwan, Mizuho Bank in tie-up

The Bank of Taiwan has entered in a memorandum of understanding with Japan’s Mizuho Bank for boosting interbank operations and offering their clients more comprehensive services. Bank of Taiwan’s chairperson Lee Jih-chu said the deal will facilitate the promotion of interbank operations between the two entities and help develop more comprehensive services for clients. Under the MoU, the two banks will kick off cooperation and exchanges in the fields of syndicated lending, trade lending, funding support, electronic finance, personnel training and trust management, Lee said. Mizuho Bank president and CEO Nobuhide Hayashi said Taiwan is an attractive market despite having a small population and the bank can make inroads into the Chinese market via Taiwan.
