Karnataka Bank has appointed B.A. Prabhakar, former CMD of Andhra Bank as an additional director on its board. The bank’s board made the appointment at its meeting on 6 September. Prabhakar, who served in various banks for 36 years, is a commerce graduate from University of Mysore and a chartered accountant. Prior to his stint as CMD in Andhra Bank, Prabhakar had served as ED of Bank of India for a period of little over 3 years from October 2008 to December 2011. Before that, he had served in Bank of Baroda from October 1977 to October 2008 having worked in all areas of banking.
