Former finance secretary and the Competition Commission of India chairman Ashok Chawla has been appointed as additional non executive director of Yes Bank. The bank informed BSE that Chawla will be also appointed as chairman of the bank’s board subject to Reserve Bank of India after the term of the current chairperson expires in October. Currently, former IAS officer Radha Singh is the chairman of bank’s board. Ashok Chawla was secretary in the government’s finance, economic affairs and civil aviation departments between 1998 and 2011. He has served as chairman in fair trade regulator CCI. His four year tenure in CCI was ended in January 2016.
