Apple Pay not for Barclays customers

UK customer of Barclays will be barred from using Apple Pay when the service is launched in the country in July 2015. As Barclays has its own mobile payment service Pingit, it has been declining to partner with Apple. With the bank’s decision to not tie up with the company, nearly 12 million current account holders will not be able to sync their account with Apple Pay to use the service. A number of major retailers and service providers, including Boots and Marks and Spencer, as well as Transport for London (TfL) are supporting Apple Pay system.
