Andhra Bank will give additional attention to housing loans as part of its priority sector lending in Andhra Pradesh. The bank’s MD and CEO Suresh Patel, said while retail and agriculture and MSME sectors were the top priorities for the bank, it wants to focus on the needs of the real estate sector in the capital region of the state. Patel also mentioned that the bank is currently focusing on creating awareness among farmers and as part of this it has launched a program wherein bank officials would visit villages every week as it intends to cover some 900 villages. The program is aimed at achieving financial inclusion in rural areas, he said.
