ABN Amro is proposing to merge ABN Amro Bank and ABN Amro Group and it has now received all required approvals from the regulators for the procedure. The legal merger will come into effect on 29 June. Under the procedure, ABN Amro Bank becomes the acquiring legal entity and ABN Amro Group ceases to exist. All the shares in ABN Amro Group will become shares in ABN Amro Bank and each certificate will represent one share in ABN Amro Bank. The certificates will continue to be listed on Euronext Amsterdam.
